SAN ANTONIO, TX–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BTL: March 23 marks BTL Technologies, Inc.’s (BTL) 13th year of providing high-quality Medical Staffing, Information Technology and Professional Services workforce solutions to Federal and commercial sectors. In 2006, BTL was established by Bill “Clark” Kent as a San Antonio, Texas-based, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Today, with a regional office in Montgomery, Alabama, BTL has expanded to 14 states, including Hawaii.
In their first seven years, BTL grew 200% and increased their office space from 640 sq ft to 2600 sq ft. This constituted a major accomplishment by most accounts but particularly for a minority-owned company in an environment where history has shown 20% of all small businesses fail the first year and only 50% make it to their fifth year. Not only has BTL survived those crucial milestone years, but in 2017, their revenue was close to $10 million.
Another company milestone is having reached a fourth year of post 8(a) certification, a mentorship program for small businesses of social and economic disadvantage. Studies show less than 10% of all 8(a) graduates are even still in business less than 2 years after their 9-year life in the 8(a) program. Not only did BTL plan well to ensure their longevity after graduation, but in recognizing the power of collaboration, they currently mentor a younger company still registered in the program.
Mr. Kent, Lt. Col (Ret), USAF, reflected on this anniversay with much enthusiasm for the future. “We’re excited to be entering our 13th year of creating a culture of excellence! Taking care of our people—employees, customers and partners—has been paramount to our success. Going forward, Strategic Partnerships through Joint Ventures and Mentor-Protege Arrangements will be key to our continued achievements as we focus on Audit Readiness, Cloud Services and Health IT projects.
Congratulations to BTL for this wonderful accomplishment! Their motto, “Empowering The Future” speaks for itself.
